Lamella Thickness
On the one hand, the acceptable lamella thickness depends on the radius of the curve; on the other hand it depends on whether the structural members are exposed to changing weather conditions. If the timber construction is exposed to rain, high or extremely dry temperatures, e.g. in bakeries or brickyards, we talk about alternating weather conditions.
| radius of the curve r inside | max. acceptable lamella thickness a | |
| straight structural members not exposed to extremely alternating weather conditions | - | 42 mm |
| straight structural members exposed to extremely alternating weather conditions | - | 33 mm |
| curved structural members | r ≥ 200 a | 33 mm |
| 200 a ≥ r ≥ 150 a | a ≤ 13 + 0,4 (r1/a - 150) in mm |
