Three-Hinged Frame
Supporting systems with three-hinged frames consist of two supporting components, which are connected by pin-joints. The endings of the two supporting components are the bearings and they are shaped as pin-joints as well.
We differentiate between three kinds of three-hinged frame supporting systems:
- rectangular three-hinged frame supporting structure
- curved three-hinged frame supporting structure
- triangular three-hinged frame supporting structure
Three-hinged frames can be characterised as a high-class supporting system because the load transmission is executed very efficiently. Further to that it is certainly a major advantage that the material consumption can be kept to a minimum. Another reason why three hinged frames are a very cost-efficient solution for a supporting system is the low price for the foundation of the construction.
