Connection Elements

One of the key advantages of wood as a building material is the ease with which wooden structural members can be joined together. Connectors and fastenings can effectively increase the strength and stability of a construction.

For centuries carpenters have used dowels, tenons and scarphs in order to assemble building material in wooden constructions. Today, the use of mechanic connectors such as bolts, screw anchors and clamps further enhances the possibilities of structural engineering. Further to that, adhesive joints, scarf gluing and finger joints assemble the building material and increase the stability of the construction.

During the last years, adhesive joints have been developed, that can transfer and distribute stresses effectively. Thus, filigree and cost-effective constructions can be realised easily.
