Moisture Content (MC)
The term moisture content (u in %) refers to the weight of water contained in the wood compared to the wood's oven-dry weight. If the moisture content is minimal, the moisture is held within the walls of the wood cells. If the moisture content is above a certain percentage, the cell walls reach a fibre saturation point and the additional water must be held in the cell cavities.
