X-LAM: The advantages of the DERIX manufacturing principle

The DERIX Group produces solid wood panels (X-LAM) which are available in individually customised dimensions of up to 17.8 x 3.5 metres.

The partial narrow surface gluing of the timber is a substantial part of this modern manufacturing principle, because the glue is applied only on one third of the narrow surface joints.

In contrast to panels with fully bonded narrow sides, this specific gluing procedure allows the timber to remain more flexible, so that cracks resulting from swelling or shrinking behaviour can be avoided.
